The country that hurts when it's cousin buys a land

The people of our country~ the Republic of Korea~
It's a country with a lot of people both good and bad.

You can see this just by looking at the olympics.
It's hard to ignore the fact that some small country, located in East Asia, has so many people well known throughout this world,
I have to admit that I'm very proud myself.

However.
The people of our country~ the Republic of Korea~
If you skin the outside cover, you can find an ugly and sometimes uncivilized side of mankind.
For example, people in our country are too busy talking bad about someone doing well rather than complimenting or rooting for them

Why do you think we have proverbs saying that when our cousins by good land, our stomachs hurt first instead of us being happy and clapping for them.

Then does that mean that the people in our country are nice, warming, and caring to people who don't as well?
You wish.
If there is someone who is different, Koreans sneer at them and sometimes even make fun of them to the point they feel like an outcast.

What is the reason behind this?
About this issue, Lee Kyutae from the Josun Times said this.

Koreans are oriented by the image of an . This is why when Korean see someone doing really well
Or someone falling really behind, we tend to avoid them.

Well, does this mean that we decided to leave out the disabled and the people doing well because Korea was a country that was hard to harvest rice
And if we didn't plant a certain seed at the certain time then we would have all starved to death?

Anyways now it's the new millennium age and an age of internationalization.
At an age like this, don't you think that we need a wider perspective and and greater heart for others?

On top of that, our enemies are not inside, but outside.
In the midst of the ongoing competition between national interests and centrism, we should not have to emphasize the fact
That the people in our country should open up our hearts and find a compromise.

BEAST made a comeback in a year and 2 months.
Due to the great album sales through the fan signing events, rather than sending warm encouragement and praises, Koreans are being diagnosed with that horrible chronic illness.
Some people are making rumors that BEAST's album sales number was a lie without any proof whatsoever.

Is it impossible to live in world where people clap for the people doing well and encourage the people who aren't doing well?

Right now, BEAST's fans are holding a campaign to gather all the receipts showing the purchase of the albums.
How frustrated do you think they must have been to decide on doing such a hard work?

However, do you think that these people making these rumors will admit that they were wrong and apologize?
I don't think so.
That is because their goal isn't to see the receipts, but they are just throwing rocks because they hate seeing BEAST and their fandom doing so well.

This is why I think the fans should ignore and not care about such rumors even though it's not fair and it makes them angry.
That way, these people who have a twisted heart will eventually tire out and disappear.

In addition, since I am on this topic, there is another chronic illness that Korean people have and it's .
I won't begin to explain where this takes place.

But oh my~ the troubles between fandoms are out of this world as well.

The best example of this is the obnoxious rumor that BEAST are copy cats.
The post on bestiz about this issue has way~ more than 30000 views.

From what I know, this group that BEAST is accused of copying has a totally different dressing style and music style.
Then what did BEAST exactly copy?
Getting a blonde dye? Wearing certain colors?

Aha~ Now I get it.
BEAST members, like the members of that group, has two eyes and one nose.
This is definitely a serious case of plagiarizing and copying.

Now I think about it there is more.
Like this other group, BEAST members wear rings, necklaces, and oh my they even wear pants.
This is definitely the evidence that even the heavens can agree that BEAST is copying this group.^^

Everyone~
Please, let's not be like that.
You guys are the future of Korea. The hope.

I say this again, but our competitor is not between us.
When someone makes a mistake or fails, I hope that you guys will give them an encouraging round of applause.
Also, even when the other person does something you want to rip them to pieces for, I hope that you will still be able to clap for them then.

I saw a meaningful photo today

It was a collage of a photo of the fan meeting before their debut, a photo of fan meeting that took place in Deungchondong around this time last year, and a photo of the fan meeting that took place right after they had completed their comeback stages despite a long break and risky change~~~

That photo was the evidence of the love between B2UTY and BEAST, and it was what they call a living piece of history.



Knowing BEAST, they would have gotten teary eyed and touched deep in their hearts seeing the b2uties waiting in the deadly hot sun just to congratulate them on their comeback.

And Dongwoon's post he wrote on twitter expresses their hearts really well.






To be honest, I personally worried a lot because BEAST's comeback was delayed and the music they prepared was so different from what they had displayed before.

On top of that I heard rumors that fans were leaving the fandom so I kept on thinking that something must have gone wrong.

But today, when I saw the fans and the truth in their hearts, all the worries and negative thoughts became a matter of unfounded fears.

Of course, the sight of BEAST putting forth their endless amount of effort towards challenges like Ulysses and the strength of B2UTIES who understand and accept BEAST the way they are is powerful.

No, it's so beautiful to the point it brings me tears.


Also! There one person who is a friend of mine who deserves a compliment.

It's BEAST's leader, nation's boyfriend idol, rock-thighs Yoon Doojoon, who is so popular these days that even his name appears in song lyrics.


I happened to watch a video of BEAST arriving at the fan meeting location.

Watching the video, I saw Doojoon, who was leading the boys saying as he was walking out of the shade.


Those were his words.

No one made him say it.

It wasn't even a scene he had acted out before.

I am confident that was BEAST's natural feeling they have for B2UTIES.


The moment I saw that, I felt an infinite amount of confidence in Doojoon.

Shouldn't all leaders in the world essentially be like him?

I might be wondering off topic, but I thought how great it would be if the "great" politicians of our country resembled Doojoon. Even at least 25%.


And since I am on this topic, one more thing.

When BEAST members were performing at Gwanghamoon, they prepared 3000 bowls of patbingsoo (shaved ice) for the fans right?

Others might say that I am biased for saying things like this, but I really want to give infinite amount of praise to BEAST for even thinking about doing this.

How in the world did they prepare 3000 bowls of patbingsoo?

It's a Beautiful Night

The time is already heading towards midnight.

Everyone is having a beautiful night right?



If you think about it, we spend our lives so much on studying and earning money that it feels like the world is far away from the beauty.



However, we can't be disappointed or give up.

Even when life fools us or when the weight we are carrying on our back weighs multiplies, we can't not sing about the beautiful night. No, we have to sing about the beautiful night.



That way you can live by hope, and only hope can make a person human like.



A while ago I heard on the news that Ulala Session's leader Lim Yoontaek released a book titled .


And I also heard of a miracle story of this one deaf Korean female who had learned language through peoples mouthing and now can speak 3 or 4 languages.


Thats right.

Don't you think that these miracles happened because these people dreamed of a beautiful night despite the severely lacking reality they were living in?



I wish more people carrying heavy weights on their back would dream about a beautiful night.



To be honest, I worried a lot when BEAST's comeback was delayed so much.

And I was saddened to hear that some fans were departing the fandom.

I heard that Dongwoon got injured during a recording of a variety show.

He had the unfortunate event of getting his fingers stitched up before their comeback stage.

I heard that Kwang Kwang faced the unfortunate event of getting a nose bleed as well?



When I first heard this, I was really mad.

I was angered by the fact that if they had checked the safety carefully, they this would have never happened.

However with a positive mind, I thought this event could have represented the cost of their comeback.

I believe that BEAST's amazing activities for this will be great.

PS. Today I saw the precious photo book from fans for Dongwoon's birthday. It isn't an easy job to be going wherever BEAST goes to capture something on camera. It's all thanks to them that we get to see BEAST's live status comfortably in our rooms right? I just like to thank Daylight and Goodman admins through this post as well.

2012 May 6th, 12:30~

I recently watched MBC's .

Mrs. San Yoo Gook (Dongwoon's mommy) and I fought our heavy eyelids and watched the show when it was broadcasted.

My reviews on it? It is too much to say in one word.
I wasn't proud of them this much. It couldn't have been more beautiful than this.

It wasn't because my son (Dongwoon) was a member of BEAST.
It was because I was proud of how far they went through, together.

I was amazed that they didn't stop because some stupid mistake caught them. They continued on with their courage and stubbornness.

Now that I think about it, when Dongwoon told me that he was tired of practicing and gave up, I was mad at him.
I was so mad at him that I told him that I would cut all ties with him, and disown him.

The fact that he couldn't get over that little obstacle to reach his dreams, angered me to the point of disowning him.

But Dongwoon was stronger than I thought he was.
The mindset on acheiveing his goals and dreams were unable to be broken.

I personally didn't think that Dongwoon would continue recieving vocal lessons after his debut.

Have you ever heard of a singer that takes vocal lessons even though his schedule hardly has time for it? Schedules like performing 35 times in 14 countries.

When I was Dongwoon's age, instead of having memories of dreaming and trying to achieve my goals, I only have memories of me complaining and whining to my parents.

While I was watching the broadcast, what one of the members said lingered in my brain.
And my chest started to hurt, making my heart heavy.

BEAST and its 6 members were a family, and they told each other things that they wouldn't tell their parents. They told each other what hardships they were going through, and the members tried to help them get through it.

That means that they have lots of hardships that are hard to say out loud, right?
Also, wouldn't it mean that the only reason they are not telling us, the parents, is because it might hurt them?

Anyways, I thought teens, not only ones that want to become a singer, should watch .

That is because dreams and goals, determination, getting back up to their feet after their hardships are nice words and phrases and should become the generation's role model.

P.S. If we were to look from the kids' perspective, I think that 12:30AM is too late for the kids to watch it. Either way, I'm sending an applause for even making a show like this.

While waiting for BEAST's comeback~

The London Olympics are starting soon.
They say that the Olympics are the festival of the Earth.
People naturally like festivals and parties.
Actually, that person might be the festival or the party.
I mean, then why would they call humans homo festibus (Partying People)?
Since homo festibus was mentioned~
The man that most people want to be, the perfect man is called 'Total Man'.

What is a Total Man?
That is when homo sapience (knowledge), homo faber (working abilities, talents), and homo festibus (party, festivals, fun) is played out equally and enough on a human.

So what we are sayign is that a person with enough knowledge, talents, and fun is the most beautiful man.

As much as B2UTIES cheer on BEAST, I think BEAST should set their goals higher, and work to make their dreams come true. I only think that because I want them to work on being a Total Man, because then people would love them more.
Anyhow, I hope that everyone can become Total Men!

Whoops, that took longer than I expected it to.
Anyways, there are articles about BEAST's comeback.
Since it has been a year, there has been many rumors about BEAST's comeback.

People complain, "It's been a year since their comeback and they're coming back with a mini album?"
Some people worry, "Why does their comeback have to be around the Olympics, the festivals of the Earth?"
Some people worry about them coming back next to greater superstars than BEAST.

But I'm not worrying too much about it.
I mean, it might not work out, but I see positives from it.

In a human's festival, don't they need music?
Also, it's not like you can get away from those big, better, stronger people forever. That's just how life is.

I think that even if it's a mini album, if the album shows how hard they worked on it for a year, and it sounds amazing, that'll make me even happier than if they let out a full album with just plain songs.
I also think that it's not a bad idea for them to change their concepts all the way.
What about different colors of style from the new trends?
Like hiphop, trot, traditional Korean music--
Are my imaginations scaring you?
Don't bash though, because we are all free to imagine^^

Anyways, I have lots of interest and anticipation for BEAST's comeback after a year.

111117 Son IlRak's Cyworld Update - Finding out more about BEAST (2): Who are you guys?

As you can tell, BEAST is 'Tojong idols'.
That means that compared to other idol groups, they are purely made up of Koreans.
That could make either a positive or a negative effect on BEAST's promotions overseas.


Right now, K-POP is the trend everywhere.
The videos of our kpop idols can be streamed on Youtube all over the world, except African countries.

During the first year of BEAST's debut, they held their showcase at Odiva, Japan. The cheering that the Japanese fans sent them was amazing.

Apparently, after Michael Jackson, has never happened before in Japan.

As BEAST traveled by helicopters to and from the airport to the concert hall, the B2UTIES made 'B2ST' with human letters. That scene was amazing, and it almost made me cry a bit.

With all this anticipation from their fans, BEAST travled to the Phillipines, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, China, Japan, and many other Asian countries.

There is a saying that in 2011~2012, they will also perform in America, England, Australia, and Brazil.
(t/n: it's so amazing seeing this now when they did perform in those countries. It's truely amazing.)

If you watch BEAST traveling to these foreign countries, you can see that being a 'Tojong idol' can be a negative at times.

That negative comes from 'interaction', otherwise known as 'language'. Now you can reference to 2PM being popular in Thailand and miss A being popular in China.

But these negatives can make a chance for them also.
BEAST being 'Tojong idols' could be a positive in their promotions overseas.

As you can see, K-POP's origin is the U.S.
But if K-POP is shown as something that is copying Pop music, K-POP will break down quickly, and it will be as if they didn't exist at all.

So, since we've been making K-POP be known all over the world for a while, it needs a group with all Koreans in it to show that K-POP is really Korean Pop, and not International Pop.

Isn't there a slogan "Our things are also good!" for a coffee commercial?

Fusion foods are yummy, but pickled peppers, Dwenjang jiggae, Kimchi, and other traditional Korean foods are sometimes more wanted from Koreans.

(t/n: Dwenjan jiggae is a type of 'soup' if you call it in Americano style^^ It's similar to miso soup, but it's more unique and has more yummy ingredients in it)

But even with those negatives, if BEAST wants to be the center of the K-POP trend, they should never be too proud of themselves in the situations they are in now, and they should be busy studying for foreign languages. I've told them that more than enough times.

BEAST is also 'Real Name Idols'.
As you can see, many idol group members have stage names or American names. But all members of BEAST use their real names.

I think that is a very positive fact about BEAST.
If they advertise their real names, I have a feeling that they wouldn't do anything stupid to bring shame to their name.

Some Korean idol groups do things that make us click our tongues and lose their main target.

But I hope that BEAST will be a group that doesn't bring shame to their names.
Because they are 'Real Name idols' ^^

Finding out more about BEAST (3) : They are 'Complicated Idols'.

BEAST is made up of members with strong personalities and indivisualities, also called 'Jjamppong Idols'.
(t/n: Jjamppoing is a Chinese-Korean cusine made up of many different ingridients)

Other than their faces, by their body and its proportions you can tell how different and how much indivisualities the members have.

When people talk about idol groups, they think of members with similar faces, weight, height.

It is well known that in CUBE entertainment, to get rid of similar trainees, they hold a mandatory showcase.

During the showcase, they see the possiblities of the trainees and their talent.

Imagine the groups that are popular in Japan.
The members' faces look similar (handsome) and they are usually taller than 180 cm.

But what about BEAST?
Heights are very different and their each of their faces are unique in their own ways.

Is that it?
There isn't a group with different tones of voices and styles like BEAST. From this fact, I don't mind calling them the 'This Way and That idols'.

BEAST is also originated from very different places.

Members of BEAST are from Kyungsangdo, Junrado, Choongchungdo, Kyungkido, and etc., making them the group with many different origins.

Also, last names of the members of BEAST do not repeat. Yoon-Jang-Lee-Yang-Yong-Son, more tha 6 last names are in BEAST.

Not only that, the CEO of their entertainment's last name is Holng, Vice President is Park, and Advertisement Head is Choi.

Does that mean the CEO of their entertainment did this on purpose from the beginning of their casting?
Height, facial features, their hometown, last names, etc.

Probably not.
It was probably a coincidence.

From this, I think that the formation of BEAST is nature's gift.
So, the school that they went to, their hometown, their last names, etc., is put together that it creates a bigger and better thing than it meant to.

I know this changes the subject, but I have a very strange habit.
When I hear a song that I learned back when I was a child, or sing to it, my nose gets a sting and my chest hurts as if its been shot by a gun.

I don't know the reason why.
But I think the origin of that came from the fact that my father worked in the army and I had stress from transferring elementary schools 6 times.

If I think about those times, I remember the days in the gymnasium, being lonely.

That's right.
At the gym, there might have been someone that wanted a friend to lean on.

If I say that, there might be someone that would be frustrated and ask me to hurry up and tell them what the title of the song is.

On 2011, June 9th, BEAST won three times in a row on Music Bank with 'Fiction'.

And during that day, they stood around, leaning on each others' shoulders, spinning around in a circle with an arm around each others' necks while singing their encore song.

As soon as I saw this, my heart felt heavy.
In this world, could there be something more beautiful than this?

This might be the reason why BEAST did better than what I expected.

During a radio broadcast, the DJ said this.

If you see a soccer or a baseball team that never won a game before, they all have a similarity. The members of the team doesn't look at the team's goal (winning), but they care about their own performance and how they look.

I couldn't help but agree to that.

That's right.
Leaning on one another with an arm around each others' neck was quite amazing.

Each of the members of BEAST are worse than weeds by themselves.

The only reason that they stood out was because they threw away their greed of looking good, and their personalities.

With their different personalities, hometowns, and how they grew up, there might be some times when they didn't get along well with each others.

There might have been arguments and fights.
But didn't you see that BEAST fought threw all that and finally achieved their goal, to go to the top?

I hope that BEAST continues to understand each other and listen to each other like they have been doing and finish the marathon they have been running.

But BEAST also has their bad sides, some dents too.
Don't you think that the difference in the members' tone, facial feautres, and personalities are actually cool?
Isn't it amazing how the six diverse members of BEAST go well together?


When getting along with someone that looks different from me, a person that has different ideas than me, caring and listening to each other is the main key.

BEAST is made up of 6 people that have very different characteristics.
I hope that you guys will care for each other and stay together forever.

Of course, BEAST is able to be on the top because of us, the B2UTIES.

I hope that BEAST becomes an idol that becomes a rep of Korea.

Also, I hope that they spread the knowledge of Korea all around the world.

That means that BEAST has to become the harmonydol (idol that keeps harmony amongst the people) of K-POP.


If BEAST becomes the harmonydol, they will also become the hope of many who are having tough troubles.

The making story of BEAST's official cheering light stick, b2uties, shall we go through the process one by one?!

Find the problems of the official cheering light stick ver1.0, aka Vaccine light stick!
The vaccine light stick has it's own special aura, however it's heavier and the brightness doesn't compare up to the weight of the stick.
So, there was the complaint about how no matter how hard the b2uties shook the light stick with their weak arms, the brightness of the light stick didn't compare up to the brightness of the light stick of other fantoms.
Also, it lacked the special identity of BEAST so if BEAST's logo was covered, the light stick's design made it hard to notice who the light stick belonged to.

First, find BEAST's personal identity!
We first looked for symbols that was associated with BEAST.
In general when we thought of BEAST, we were reminded of strength, power, axe, monsters, and etc.
However, the light stick was something you b2uties were to carry in your precious hands, therefore we started to think about how we can put together the BEAST and the B2UTIES in one symbol!

And that's how we stuck with the 'Beauty and the Beast" concept!!
BEAST who sing on stage are actual beasts, and the b2uties cheering in the crowd below them are actual beauties.
No matter how they look, or what situation they are in, B2UTIES are the ones who will understand the thoughts of BEAST and love them for who they are~!!
In the thoughts that we will return the favor to the b2uties by giving them a rose, we decided to go with the rose concept.

B2UTIES also agreed to the plan~
After searching through many online communities of what you b2uties wanted, there were some people who wanted the rose design!
Realizing this fact, we confirmed to carry out the rose design as the official light stick ver2.0 design.

The idea sketching process of anything and everything related to roses
The rose light stick design by CUBE has to fit the criteria that anyone who saw it could realize that it was a rose and that it needed to be a shape that can give off the most brightness.
So after sketches of so many ideas, BEAST's official light stick ver2.0 was born.

Endless testing of design, quality, and brightness
In order to create the best product, we tested the quality of materials, designs, and the lantern brightness that goes inside the stick so many times.
The above image was a cut from the process, so it's different from the final one.

And that is how BEAST's official light stick ver2,0 is born~

After the Idol Star Athletics Championships ended, we came back to the dorm. I looked at posts here and there and now I'm writing one ㅎㅎ
Recently I've been thinking that we have to work really hard for the next album to save all you 4nias ㅎㅎ
We have a lot of activities in our schedules so I want to give a lot of hints(?) Is that what it's called? I want to give a lot of those ㅎㅎ
We want to make it so that you can go around saying that you're a 4nia proudly ㅎㅎ Not that you're discouraged to be a 4nia right now ㅎ
Thank you very much to the 4nias who came to the Idol Star Athletics Championships to see us even though we aren't promoting right now
My eyesight isn't that good but I think for the few minutes that I was able to see, I only paid attention to 4nias ㅎㅎ Don't be sad if you couldn't find 4minute ㅜㅜ

Last Saturday on August 13th, there was a Hallyu concert at the Munhak stadium in Incheon.
The 4minute members, including last year, appeared this year and showed a passionate performance~!!

I have one strange habit.
The habit is that whenever I listen to or sing along to the kid songs I used to learn, the ends of my nose tingle, and my heart feels clenched.

I don't know the reason why.
I just know that that it might be related to the fact that I had an unsafe childhood because I had to move my grade school six times due to my father's job.

Whenever I think back to those days, I see myself not getting along with friends, and standing blankly at the corner of the gym~~~
So my heart aches from the loneliness and the emptiness of those memories.

Today, BEAST was able to win the title of winning first place for three weeks in a row on Music Bank.
And as they sang their encore song, they got together in a circle and came together shoulder to shoulder.

One day, Dongwoon's mom said she had a weird dream.
That one Dongja* was flying up to the sky on a kite~~~
And lovebirds were following him up while laughing.

Yes.
That was a baby dream.
Thinking back, that kid was meant to be an idol trend following mutant (I'm sorry. You know I'm not using this term in a negative way
right?^^) from the moment he was born.

1991 June 6th~~~
I was waiting anxiously waiting in the Busan Cultural Hospital waiting room.
I was waiting for my second child to be born.
And then at one moment, a cry loud enough to blow away the hospital hallway erupted.

The hero of the estimated over 80 decibel (subway construction sound level) strong cry~~~
That friend is Dongwoon.
The nurse told me.
"This kid~~~his voice is that of a warrior. Out of the 30 babies that were born today, his cry was the loudest."

Anyway, it's been 2 years since 4minute has debuted..
There have been many things that happened since then, many ups and downs, but every time, you 4nias are the reason why we were able to stay strong!!!

I couldn't thank you each time, but there were many things that I was thankful for.
I always felt it, but I think I felt it even more during these past promotions.

This day, what's happening?
No matter how I think, fans, celebrities and coordinators, and staff are not sure of relationships so they cannot really understand the situation. I think this is what that is happening.^^

As you know, Celebrities lives are surrounded by managers and staff.
To them, managers and staff are like family and friends.

Then I watched them protecting themselves, they are caring managers and staff who i think we should appreciate. Sometimes they are better than flesh and blood if you didn't even consider.

The continuos tension at the end of a broadcast an performance, even when they are seated together with their parents, appreciation will still be directed to the effusive managers and staff. Of course, I have often seen this at broadcast stations too.

Their families and friends, little more than I want to thank them, an encouraging scene changing to jealousy, blaming, this is what a tree is called~~~
No matter how mindless some young fans are an how the reckless like speak~~~

Ahem~~~
It is not really what they're thinking.

And they speak a little differently but~~~
Everyone try to ponder about it for once.
