[NEWS] 4Minute won Bonsang award from the the 20th High Seoul Music Awards

4Minute received their first ever award this year from the 20th High Seoul Music Awards. They are one of the receivers of Bonsang Award including other Idol groups such as miss A, Son Dambi, SHINee, SECRET, IU, 2AM, F.T. Island, B2ST and SNSD.

It was reported that the Bonsang award winners were chosen through voting (20%), digital/album sales (50%), research (10%), and panel judgement (20%).

[NEWS] Lee Juno admires HyunA's legendary "Pelvic dance"

On MBC's 19th episode of the show - "Super Junior's Foresight," they had one of the legendary Korean dancers, popularly known as Lee Juno of Seo-Taiji and Boys as their guest.

With that, he showcased his never-dying talent in dancing and that left the MCs of the show including Super Junior's leader, Leeteuk in amazement. On the interview, he also caught Leeteuk's attention when he revealed that he admires 4Minute's main dancer, Kim HyunA.

Leeteuk actually asked the legendary dancer, "Among the idol dancers of this generation, who do you think dances well the most?"

He answered, "4Minute's Kim HyunA's solo song and dance is very catchy... She simply stands out whenever she performs it."

On the other hand, another guest of the show added, "HyunA looks so good when she wears short shorts!" causing laughter from everyone on the show.

Meanwhile, Juno joined Eunhyuk, Super Junior's Dance machine, completing an amazing dance performance stealing a lot of people's interest.

Yoon Doojoon who had starred in MBC's gag program 'First Time Ever' has created an uproar by doing a Son Dambi impersonation.

In one corner of the recent program 'First Time Ever' called 'I want to know Beast' filming, BEAST starred as a guest and were tested on their variety show skills. Because of this, they were set up to do a fake date with Rainbow. The corner that shows how the BEAST members react to Rainbow's outbreak of actions.

BEAST's Doojoon who usually is called the boyfriend idol learned the Son Dambi impersonation from Rainbow's Seungah. But Doojoon soon improved than Seungah and showed a perfect Son Dambi impersonation.

Not only the impersonation but even the expressions and poses were the same which made everyone in the studio laugh. The MCs said "Doojoon who wins Seungah who also has an odd personality" and rated Doojoon's variety show skills high.

BEAST's Yoseob who had met Rainbow's Noeul in the date was bewildered at first but soon followed Noeul's rabbit impersonation and showed his idol- cuteness terminator self.

BEAST's Junhyung met Jaekyeong, Hyunyoung and Woori as a 3:1 date and showed a shy image which was different from his usual BEAST stages.

After the BEAST members' dates were over, the 'variety show skills' first place was awarded to Doojoon who even surprised Seungah.

The fake date where Doojoon does his Son Dambi impersonation with Rainbow will be show on the 19th.

[Sports Today’s reporter Kang Kyung Rok] On the episode of MBC “For the First Time” aired on the 19th, a competition between the BEAST members was shown on the ‘Street Party’ corner of the show.

The first battle was between Yoon Doojoon and Jang Hyunseung. In this game, the first person to take off the other’s stocking is the victor.

The result is Yoon Doojoon’s dumbfounding loss. In this battle, Yoon Doojoon lifted his leg and provoked Hyunseung. However, the provocation was only temporary, as Hyunseung stole the stocking from Doojoon and won.

The second battle that took place was between Yong Junhyung and the maknae who seems like the bigger hyung, Sohn Dongwoon. However, even before the MC’s read the profiles of the two, the game ended dryly with Yong Junhyung’s victory.

The championship game was between Jang Hyunseung and Yong Junhyung. In the final game, stockings are worn on both feet and the one to take off the other’s stockings is the victor. As the two people competed seriously, Yong Junhyung took off both of Hyunseung’s stockings and was the champion of the game.

Meanwhile, in this episode, Beast showed a different and fresh charm.

BEAST holds a mini concert with auction to help young leukemia patients on the 26th


Chicken franchise BBQ is hosting a 'BBQ-Beast Miniconcert' on January 26th at AX Korea, in Gwangjang-dong in Seoul, inviting 2000 of their customers. The concert will be around 2 hours long, starting at 2 in the afternoon. Before the concert, there will also be a charity auction, auctioning off Beast items, to help children diagnosed with leukemia.

Along with an entry slip provided by BBQ with any purchase, if you leave a message on their homepage stating 'Why using extra virgin olive oil and 100% homegrown chicken makes BBQ chicken good,' you will have entered for an invitation to the event.

Out of the people who have entered, 2000 people will have a chance to see the concert. Entries will be accepted until the 20th, and winners will be announced on the 22nd.

Getting the chance to not only go to a Beast concert but also to go to an auction with Beast items is very rare so for Beast fans, obtaining tickets is an intense competition. Because of this, BBQ sales and homepage visitors are increasing every day.

The head of BBQ's marketing team, Choi Moonhyung revealed, "Because customers can eat delicious BBQ chicken and have the chance to see Beast, thereby killing two birds with one stone, the response of the customers has been feverish. So far there has been as many as 56,000 entries."

[NEWS] Seungri and Hyunseung are actually close

Cube Entertainment released a statement regarding the funny Samgyupsal incident about Seungri, Daesung and Hyunseung that GD&TOP shared during their guesting on Night After Night. (Watch the subbed videos here.)

According to a Cube representative:

Beast’s Hyunseung who used to be a Big Bang trainee greeted Seungri warmly when they met while in the waiting room for a music program. He specially made time to meet the members of Big Bang with Seungri as the priority.

YG Entertainment has also stated that Big Bang members are still really close with Hyunseung. Only then would they have revealed this little episode involving Seungri and Hyunseung.

4Minute's leader Nam JiHyun revealed her face without make-up.

E Channel's real variety show '4Minute's Mr. Teacher' raided 4Minute's current dormitory. The members of 4Minute showed off their bare faces confidently even though they were flustered after being caught defenseless by the production crew's surprise visit.

Amongst the members, Leader Nam JiHyun showed her shining bare face and earned recognition as 'The Idol with a pretty bare face'.

Meanwhile, a surprise hidden camera for 4Minute's maknae SoHyun had also taken place. [news] Nichkhun's brother to teach 4minute about Thai culture!

4minute are learning Thai culture from Nichkhun's brother, Nichan.

Nichan is the older brother of Nichkhun, a member of a pop group named 2PM. Being featured with the famous 4minute on their upcoming hit TV show, "Mr. Teacher," (starting 1/19) will be his first major step into the Korean entertainment industry.

"4minute's Mr. Teacher" will feature the smash hit group, 4minute, as they travel around Asia. The girls will meet a handsome local from each country and the sexy guy will help the girls learn about that nation.

The four teachers who will wholeheartedly instruct the lovely girls of 4minute have extraordinary appearances. Taiwanese teacher, JL Lim, who is currently a major model in Taiwan, will give the girls the know-how to survive activities in Taiwan. Japanese teacher, Hikumi Nori (22), who is currently a songwriter, composer and producer in Japan, will give the girls lessons based around the Japanese music scene.

Finally, 4minute's Malaysian teacher, Lin (24) is currently a student in Seoul and dreaming of becoming a pilot. He will teach the girls the particularities and unique parts of Malaysian culture. And of course the girls will be learning from the hot issue known as Nichan, who, with his unibrown charms and sexy field laborer tan, has been garnering interest across the Net.

[INFO] 「Why」set to release on March 2nd

As we reported earlier, 4Minute will be releasing another single for a Japanese drama, "Akuto~Juuhanzai Sousa Han (悪党～重犯罪捜査班)". The drama is set to air on January 21, 2011.

Through the premier episode of the drama, viewers may be able to hear a glimpse of the song that will play as the opening theme, but the physical release of the drama is reported to be on March 2, 2011. Although it will be up for sale on March 2, the digital release hasn't been decided yet, so all of us can take a guess that it may be released earlier. Besides that, the single album will also be their 4th Japanese single and like others, it will also come in 3 versions.

[Info] 20th High1 Seoul Music Awards Current Voting Results!

The ‘20th High1 Seoul Music Awards‘ is drawing nearer and popular voting among fans through mobile phones and ARS is heating up.

The award ceremony will be taking place at Kyunghee University in Hoegi-dong, Seoul on January 20th. Based on the voting results updated on January 18th at 12.20pm KST, BEAST and Super Junior are leading the ‘Bonsang Category’ with 30.5% and 20.6% respectively. SNSD came in 3rd with 10.9%.

In the ‘Popularity Award Category’, SHINee obtained 31% from the fan-voting exercise to take a slight lead over Super Junior who came in 2nd with 28,8%. SNSD are following closely with 27.4%.

’20th High1 Seoul Music Awards’ will be broadcast LIVE on Cable TV channel, y★star and Comedy TV from 7pm KST to 10pm KST on January 20th.

On the 17th of January, G.na’s official fancafe revealed a close selca of her and Yoseob. G.na and Yoseob’s abnormally small faces in the picture received a lot of attention.

The selca was taken on 13th January in Malaysia’s Stadium Negara while in the waiting room of the large scale Korean pop event Digi Live K-pop Party 2011. The duo’s small and delicate facial features revealed brilliant smiles.

G.NA and Yoseob are well known for their small face size which is jokingly said to be only ‘one tenth’ of their whole body size. They have achieved the rare golden ratio. The purpose of revealing the selca of their small faces is not to humilliate people with small faces but to show off how ‘Small Head Terminators’ look like.

Who will be the winner of the Muse Trophy in the 2011 High1 Seoul Music Awards?

The 20th High1 Seoul Music Awards will be held on the 20th of January at the Kyunghee University Peace Centre. As of now, cellphone and ARS popularity voting is still going strong for the three main award categories, which are the Bonsang Award, Newcomer Award and Popularity Award respectively. Last year’s awards saw current girl groups getting the upper hand but current boy groups and rookie groups were not daunted by this. There was also close competition by solo singers with both strength and qualifications.

For the Bonsang Award category, since 14 January, Beast is in first place with 30.2 % of the votes, Super Junior comes in 2nd with 20.5 % of the votes while Girls Generation is in 3rd place with 10.9 % of the votes.

[Interview] BEAST wants to collaborate with Kanye West

HOT: What was it like recording your album Shock of The New Era?
Beast: Everything that was in us is now in the album. All the emotions, all our thoughts,we’ve put everything into this and regardless of whether it’s a success or a failure, we know that we’ve given our all.

HOT: With collaborations being quite the in thing these days, is there anyone you would like to work with?
Beast: If given the oppurtunity, we’d like to work with Kanye West.

HOT: What’s the funniest thing that a fan has done for you?
Beast: Well, one of our fans gave us a chicken. Every two weeks, this fan would send us a chicken. [Laughs] We just cooked it and ate it. The reaction from the fans has been great. We are surprised but very rateful and thankful.

HOT: Wherever you go,there’s always a bunch of screamng girls nearby. Tell us, is it difficult living in the limelight?
Beast: We have to be very careful about where we go and what we say. It’s just very different from the life we used to have. It’s not that we don’t like it, we’re very happy about how things has turned out. It’s just that we’ve come to realise that when you gain something, there are some things that you will have to lose.

HOT: Do you miss your normal life?
Beast: Not really. We’re happy with where we are now and how people are aware of our music.

HOT: You guys work very hard and tour quite a lot. How much do you miss home?
Beast: A lot. All of us get homesick when we’re on tour. We spend more time on the road than at home now. Any amount of time that we get to spend at home is really precious to us.

HOT: What’s the first thing you do when you get home?
Beast: For every one of us, it’s a different thing. Some of us can’t wait to eat a good plate of home-cooked food. Some of us want a good night’s sleep while others want to catch up with our old friends.

HOT: What’s it like working, living and touring as a group?
Beast: It’s really fun. Even when we’re just waiting around to go for interviews, we talk and mess around and just have fun. Sometimes we even watch movies together. We spend a lot of time with each other because we have to practise and work together. We are each other’s best friend!

HOT: Among the six of you, who gets punked the most?
Beast: The one who gets pranked the most is Kikwang. Even when we tell him the most out of this world things he will go, ‘Oh really?’

[NEWS] 4Minute will perform at Yumi Katsura’s bridal fashion exhibition with BEAST and Supernova

Korean Female Idol group, 4Minute will be performing with 2 of the newest but hottest Korean Male Idols, namely, BEAST and Supernova, at Yumi Katsura's bridal fashion exhibition on the 23rd of February (Wednesday) at the Ryogoku Kokugikan arena in Tokyo.

This year's fashion exhibition, YUMI KATSURA PARIS 2011 GRAND COLLECTION IN TOKYO, though being celebrated annually, is expected to become another "big-time" since the very first year of bridal exhibition in Japan in the year 1965 because of the participation of these 3 hot and famous Korean Idols. They decided to make this year's exhibition an extra-special event for the celebration of their 70th anniversary as well as to make another mark to represent traditional Japanese culture.

It was reported that 4Minute will be appearing on the Runaway and will be wearing several clothes designed by Yumi Katsura, a famous Japanese Designer of ready-wear and haute couture bridal gowns.

A representative announced that two performances will be held at 2PM and 7PM. Supernova will perform during the 2PM session whereas Beast will perform during the 7PM session. 4Minute will take part in both performances.
